Flashpoint Esports Dreamhack 2016

Last weekend Dreamhack 2016 was held in Montreal, and Bluvos Energy was well represented by non-other than Flash Point Esports. Flash Point was in full force at Dreamhack this year with two teams committed to the competition, Flash Point Fire and Flash Point Air. Day 1 of the competition started with Fire trouncing through to an impressive 8-0 record and then moving on to the group stage, where they would place first at 3-0 in their group. After advancing through the group stage and remaining undefeated (11-0), Fire faced off in a best of 3 series against Insomnia Esports. Although challenging, Fire won the series using solid drafting and gameplay, to once again move on. While Fire was toppling their opponents, Air was following suit going undefeated in the group stage and winning the series against Team Checkpoint 2-1. With a possible Flash Point head to head match in the Semi-finals, it was up to Fire to beat a former top tier challenger team in DeathRules. Flash Point Fire would go on to beat DeathRules and set up an unforgettable Semi-final round against their brethren Flash Point Air. Although both teams played well, Flash Point Fire would take the series 2-0, sending their counterparts to the Loser’s Bracket. Before Day 2 was to end for Flash Point Air, they had to win two more single game matches in order to have a chance to stay alive. Winning the first match Air would go head to head with Team Checkpoint in a thrilling rematch, but Air was unable to pull through with another win and was eliminated, placing 4th overall. Flash Point Esports was not out of the competition yet, as Fire set off on Day 3 against Game Too Hard in the Winner’s Final. After starting out strong and getting ahead in Game 1, late game mistakes would end up costing Fire the game, as they would go on to lose Game 2 and the series 0-2. With the tough loss Fire would then go on to play against Team Checkpoint, who had defeated their brethren earlier in the Loser’s Bracket. The series was tense and close, but ultimately Fire would end up losing in 3 games 1-2, officially eliminating Flash Point Esports.

Overall, Flash Point had a successful outing and has a very promising future ahead. With continued coaching and bonding, the team looks to be a juggernaut in the Semi-pro to Pro scene moving forward.

Most Memorable Moment: The most memorable moment for Flash Point, was after Dreamhack the players went as a team to a Korean Barbecue. This was a first time experience for some of the players who had never cooked for themselves (let alone in a restaurant). Good times were had and it was a nice team bonding moment after a tough day.

The Bluvos Experience: Flash Point Esports was provided Bluvos for this year's Dreamhack tournament in Montreal. The team took it each day of competition and even took two doses on the longer days. The players loved their experience and informed us that the effects of Bluvos really helped them push through the grind and play at a high level. Flash Point Esports will gladly be utilizing Bluvos in future competitions.

Underdog eSports Perform Admirably at First MLG Event

Underdog Esports

Underdog Esports was one of four teams to compete under the Bluvos Energy banner, in this year’s Call of Duty Orlando Open. Their roster was solid going in with players such as Arpit (@Brparadox), Carmine (@CarmineGrips), Nick (@NicholasLevels) and Andres (@Mr_ABaR). With a Round 1 match up against (80) Fierce Gaming, (49) Underdog Esports came out with a 2-0 series win and a Round 2 match against (16) Illicit Gaming. Although they played valiantly Underdog Esports was outmatched and defeated 2-0 in Round 2. They would go on to proceed to Round 2 of the Open Losers, defeating (78) BoDy BaGs 2-0 and then losing to (17) EZG eSports, rounding out the end of the tournament.

Speaking to Underdog Esports representatives, the venue was a beautiful location with about 20 Open Bracket Stages, 2 Semi-Main Stages and several booths set up, unfortunately there was no Bluvos Energy booth at this year's open.

We were unable to supply Underdog with Bluvos in time for this year's open, but we will be sure to have it in their hands at the next one and be sure to check these guys out @UnderdogEsports!
